“Her songs are very much in the deep blue vein. Fully expect this music to be described as Lynchian.” —The Guardian

“We see signs of a songwriter here for the long haul, with plenty more to share.” —DIY Magazine

“Chilling, ornate piano and lines about removing or no longer being able to tolerate certain artefacts evoke an elegant ballet” —Pitchfork

 “Simply breathtaking…shatteringly beautiful” —The Independent

Marina, the new album from rising artist Eddi Front, is out now. Download it here and stream here. The album is receiving early acclaim, Stereogum hails “a snowdrift in the midst of a spring awakening…spine-tingling,” while DIY calls it “a pirouetting, constantly dazzling statement of intent.”

To celebrate the release, Front plays New York’s Berlin this Saturday, March 5 with The Range.

Marina was recorded in Brooklyn with producer Dan Chen, whom Front found after years of recording independent of a producer, and was mixed by John Agnello (Kurt Vile, Dinosaur Jr., Come). The album includes seven new songs from Front, including “Elevator,” which Stereogum called “a beautiful, evocative thing” when it debuted earlier this year. The album also features Front’s father, a professional violinist, on “Goldie” and “Sing Sing”

“The record was pieced together over the span of about a year, although it describes a mind frame I was in for several and references experiences and people from as far back as childhood,” Front says of the album. The new album follows Front’s self-titled debut EP, released in 2012 on Best Fit Recordings to great critical acclaim.

Eddi Front is the solo project of Brooklyn-based artist Ivana Carrescia. Her other projects include Gioia, a collaboration with Godmode Records founder Nick Sylvester.
