DEBUT EP VACANT SPACE OUT NOW ON FUTURE CLASSIC

“…Raw, sensual and sinister…driven by Maple’s powerful vocals” —T: The New York Times Style Magazine

“Meet the new queen of reined-in electro-soul who makes Jessie Ware sound like Jessie J.”—The Guardian

Vacant Space…is a deeply evocative collection of soulful tracks that burn slowly, pouring over you like thick molasses” —Teen Vogue

“R&B-infused electronic pop was one of the defining sounds of this year’s CMJ, and...George Maple was one of the acts who did it best.” —Entertainment Weekly

Following its premiere on Stereogum, George Maple’s “Where You End And I Begin” featuring Philly rapper Grande Marshall is out today on Future Classic. “This is Maple’s showcase through and through, and it’s an impressive step forward from last year’s debut EP,” Stereogum says of the track. Stream “Where You End And I Begin” here and buy via iTunes here.

Of the song, Maple notes, “I wanted to capture a sense of bittersweet innocence and lust. I felt nostalgic when writing the track, thinking about my first crush, my first kiss. I wanted to channel this mood into the production, the delivery and the general tone of the song. By lucky coincidence, Grande Marshall came by the studio when the track was almost done. He jumped on and wrote a verse and it was then that the song felt complete.”

The track comes ahead of Maple’s intimate U.S. dates this spring, including Los Angeles’ Lyric Theater, San Diego’s CRSSD Festival and New York’s Rough Trade Brooklyn, as well as several shows at this year’s SXSW. Tickets are available for the Lyric Theater here and Rough Trade here. Please see below for full tour routing.
