HANNAH GEORGAS’ NEW ALBUM FOR EVELYN OUT TODAY

NEW ALBUM RECEIVES PRAISE FROM NPR MUSIC, THE BOSTON GLOBE, CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND, NERDIST, IDOLATOR, THE WILD HONEY PIE, ETC.

CURRENTLY ON U.S. TOUR WITH BOY & BEAR

Hannah Georgas’ anticipated new full-length album, For Evelyn, is out today on Dine Alone Records (purchase) and is already receiving widespread critical acclaim…

“…I found it immediately arresting.”—Robin Hilton, NPR Music

“…singer Hannah Georgas takes a simple piano ballad and turns it into a syncopated wonder with pulsing horns.” —NPR Music

“…an indie-minded avant-pop artist” —The Boston Globe

“…a deeply probing record that flows seamlessly between self-doubt and irrational confidence, all without missing an off-kilter dance beat.” —Consequence of Sound

“For Evelyn is the work of an artist who’s supremely confident in her craft.” —Consequence of Sound

“‘Rideback’ opens in gorgeous fanfare. Myriad horns wax and wane in shifting harmonies before Georgas’ questioning vocal cuts through.” —Nerdist

“Hannah Georgas does pop differently. Take ‘Don’t Go,’ the first taste of her third LP, For Evelyn. It tackles profound themes like coming to grips with the mortality of loved ones while still delivering a soaring, bittersweet chorus.” —Idolator

“…strikes a perfect balance between lush production and dynamic quiet. The track slowly builds in intensity, as striking percussive hits and her vibrant vocals lead towards the powerful chorus” — The Wild Honey Pie

Named after Hannah’s “compassionate, patient, kind and beautiful” 98-year-old grandmother, For Evelyn was produced by Graham Walsh (Holy Fuck), mixed by Nicolas Vernhes (The War on Drugs, Animal Collective, Dirty Projectors, etc) and features collaborations with Ryan Guldemond (Mother Mother) and Andy Shauf.

In celebration of the release, Georgas is currently in the midst of a North American tour with Boy & Bear. See below for complete details.

Since her debut in 2009, Georgas has released two full-length albums (This is Good (2010) and Hannah Georgas (2012)), toured alongside Sara Bareilles, Kathleen Edwards and City and Colour and had music featured on HBO’s “Girls.” Her most recent self-titled album received widespread critical praise, including notice at NPR Music, Mojo, the Vancouver Weekly and The Huffington Post, which called her “phenomenal.”
