POP’S NEW MUSE: BREAKOUT GLOBAL STAR MØ TO PLAY SELECT NORTH AMERICAN DATES THIS MONTH

“DON’T LEAVE” WITH SNAKEHIPS CLIMBING CHARTS WORLDWIDE

Danish vocalist, songwriter and breakout star will play select North American dates this month, kicking off March 13 in Chicago, with further stops in Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles and more.

MØ is quickly rising as a pop muse and star in her own right, with a momentous 2016 including a handful of high profile guest appearances—Major Lazer’s smash hits “Cold Water” and “Lean On,” one of the most successful independent songs of all time, among them. MØ’s own singles “Drum” and “Final Song” have climbed charts worldwide ahead of her forthcoming, second studio album.

Don’t Leave,” MØ’s collaboration with Snakehips, is currently climbing charts worldwide—currently at #43 on Spotify’s Global Top 50 with more than 63 million streams to date. Listen here.

In September, MØ performed “Final Song”—which is certified double platinum in Norway and Australia, platinum in Denmark and Gold in the U.S., U.K., Germany, Sweden, Belgium and The Netherlands—on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” watch it here.

Hailing from Funen, Denmark, MØ is Karen Marie Ørsted. In 2014, she released her debut album, No Mythologies To Follow to great critical success. Pitchfork described MØ’s voice as “a powerful and versatile tool comfortable expressing emotional turmoil as it is wearing a fuck-the-haters scowl,” while Consequence of Sound said the album is “a polished pop package that boasts bite as well as her refreshingly charming magnetism.” In 2015, MØ teamed up with Major Lazer to co-write and sing “Lean On,” which is one of the most streamed songs of all time on Spotify, peaked at #1 on Top 40 radio in the U.S. and has over 1 billion views on the official music video. MØ’s highly anticipated second album is due for release this year.
