“This EP reflects the ‘cinematic’ way in which I see the world I grew up in,” says Hill. “The West Country is an often-forgotten space. There’s not much going on there but it’s where I grew up. These stories feel extremely specific to me but are also a collective experience shared amongst young people growing up in the middle of nowhere. We must make one’s own entertainment in order to find the extraordinary in the mundane.”
In celebration of the upcoming EP, Hill is debuting the EP’s lead single “Off The 45” alongside an accompanying video. Listen to/share the track HERE and watch/share the video HERE.
In addition, Hill is slated to play a select run of shows this summer in the U.K., including appearances at The Great Escape Festival, Latitude Festival, Boardmasters Festival and more. In addition, Hill is supporting singer/songwriter Rachel Chinouriri at London’s Hoxton Hall on May 12. Full tour routing can be found below.
Born in Cheddar, England, Hill’s introduction to music began while studying opera in Bristol, which was where she also started working for the refugee arts organization The Good Chance. Combining these two passions, Hill began teaching music in the Middle East while studying Anthropology and Arabic. When lockdown hit, she moved back to her hometown and worked on a strawberry farm, keeping positive and creative though her “Song In A Day” series on Instagram.
Hill self-released her debut EP Down at The Res in April 2022. The five-track project was written, recorded and produced in her bedroom, highlighting her DIY spirit. The EP’s lead track, “Honeymoon,” has since amassed over 2 million global streams.
