“As the duo Johnnyswim, singer-songwriters Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano have traveled the world charming audiences with shimmering and soulful pop tunes that also exude the honest imperfections [of] solid country music songwriting.”—Rolling Stone

Johnnyswim, the acclaimed husband and wife singer-songwriter duo of Amanda Sudano-Ramirez and Abner Ramirez, returns with a new song, “Devastating,” out today alongside an accompanying video. The track explores the depth of love in all its forms; the duo concludes the song by singing, “I wanna love you till it’s devastating / Until the dirt cries and my grave is waiting / Is it even worth it if there ain’t heartbreak waiting.” Listen to/share the track HERE and watch/share the video HERE. More music from Johnnyswim to come soon as they’re set to release a new album later this year.

“As a married duo it’s easy to write songs about the pleasures of love and romance, but in ‘Devastating’ we explore the depth of love that at its best, isn’t just sweet, but, if all goes right, will be touched by some level of tragedy and hardship,” says Ramirez. “This ‘ring on my finger and a tag on my toe’ kind of love is the soul of the song. Love can be pretty, but you’re lucky, it’s devastating too.”

The new release follows numerous career milestones for Johnnyswim—the duo premiered a new season of their television series, “The JOHNNYSWIM Show,” as part of longtime friends Chip and Joanna GainesMagnolia Network launch on discovery+ in July and released their first book, Home Sweet Road: Finding Love, Making Music, and Building a Life One City at a Time, in June on Convergent/Random House.
