October 24, 2025—Major Lazer’s global takeover continues with “BRUK DOWN” featuring Parris Goebel, America Foster and Sadboi. Listen HERE and watch the video, shot on Diplo’s family farm, HERE.
This release marks America’s official vocal debut as Lazer’s First Lady, leading a star-studded group of women on the track including Toronto it-girl and musician Sadboi, as well as iconic choreographer and dancer Parris, who steps into the spotlight for vocal contributions.
“‘BRUK DOWN’ started how I start all my songs––as a freestyle,” says America. “The vibe that I got from the beat was almost sensual but rude at the same time––it had this badgyal energy that I really liked. The freestyle was cool, but it wasn’t a track until Diplo sent it to SadBoi for her verse and Parris for her bridge. That’s when it all came together. I hope you all enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it.”
America was working as a security guard when she sent Diplo a handful of her freestyles via Instagram DM. After connecting at his London show last fall, he invited her to record in Jamaica which resulted in the creation of “BRUK DOWN,” exactly one year ago to date. Soon after that session, he enlisted her as a full-fledged Major Lazer member. Having only ever freestyled as a party trick, America has honed her skills to define a new era for the superstar group, quickly impressing fans through electrifying freestyles on Capital XTRA and Apple Music Radio. Her Capital XTRA became an official remix of Lazer’s long-awaited single “GANGSTA” ft. Busy Signal and Kybba.
“I’ve been dancing and creating to Major Lazer tracks for years now so this collaboration is full circle for me,” says Parris. “There’s always something so infectious and fun about their sound that makes you want to dance—so to now be on a song with them is so exciting and feels right. We want the world to dance and be free! All three of us have such big personalities and we really played with that—and I feel that shows in the video. Those are my girls, and I’m really excited to be sharing this moment with them.”
Parris––whose groundbreaking work includes Rihanna’s Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show, Lady Gaga’s Mayhem Ball and Beyoncé's "Beyoncé Bowl" Christmas Day NFL Halftime Show ––recently signed to Mad Decent and co-directed the track’s official video with Philippa Price, the creative visionary who was also behind Rihanna’s Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show and the tours of Pharell and St. Vincent, among much more.
Major Lazer will make their return to festivals next year. The group was recently unveiled as 2026 Ultra headliners and will also play Coachella, making their triumphant return to the desert ten years later. With more massive performances imminent, Lazer continues to command audiences from the world’s largest stages.
Founded to further Diplo’s studio experimentation and celebrate a lifelong love of Caribbean music, Major Lazer has become one of the most successful groups of all time. The global-pop kings have dominated the charts with hits including the Diamond-certified “Lean On,” 4x Platinum-certified “Cold Water” and 2x Platinum-certified “Light It Up.” Their collaborations include Beyoncé, J Balvin, Nicki Minaj, WizKid, El Alfa, Burna Boy, Travis Scott, Ariana Grande and many more. A live juggernaut, the group has blown minds on tour and at festivals around the world for more than 15 years. In 2024, Major Lazer celebrated the 15th anniversary of their seminal 2009 debut album, Guns Don’t Kill People…Lazers Do. More from Major Lazer is imminent.
