INTRODUCING NOELINE HOFMANN

DEBUT SINGLES “PURPLE GAS” AND “LIGHTNING IN JULY (PRAIRIE FIRE)” OUT TODAY, LISTEN HERE

FALL TOUR DATES CONFIRMED SUPPORTING COLTER WALL AND WYATT FLORES

August 9, 2024—Poised for a breakout year, emerging Canadian singer, songwriter and musician Noeline Hofmann released her debut singles, “Purple Gas” and “Lightning in July (Prairie Fire),” today. Listen to the songs, both of which were produced by Patrick Lyons (Colter Wall, Sam Barber), HERE.

“Purple Gas,” penned by Hofmann, has already garnered widespread notice after catching attention online from both fans and artists, including Zach Bryan, who, after being instantly moved by the track, asked Hofmann to record it with him as a duet for his new album, The Great American Bar Scene—the first time he’s ever recorded another artist’s work. Of the track, Bryan shares, “This song brought me to tears the first time I heard it, so it was really important for me that Noeline gave me the privilege to sing it with her. I have never covered another musician on an album and it’s because I was waiting on someone to write a song like this. Noeline resonates like Gillian Welch to me and Gillian is one of my favorite musicians to ever live.” Listen to the duet version HERE.

Reflecting on the song, Hofmann shares, “‘Purple Gas’ was inspired by my upbringing in rural southern Alberta, Canada and time spent working on a cattle ranch in western Manitoba. The imagery is derived from lived experiences in those settings. It’s a song about resilience and the rural attitude through hardships out of one’s control.”

Additionally, of “Lightning in July (Prairie Fire),” Hofmann reflects, “it’s a cheeky self-introduction—a playful, all attitude, can’t stop won’t stop, walk the walk, talk the talk fight song. It’s inspired by a feeling of walking around with a loaded gun - so to speak - and being underestimated or overlooked. I wrote it with the intent to add a fun traditional country barnburner to the setlist before going on tour.”

Based in Southern Alberta, Canada, the 20-year-old artist is already establishing herself as “a breath of fresh air” (Holler) in country music. Inspired by her time working in honky-tonks and herding cattle across the Canadian prairies, Hofmann’s songwriting is filled with bittersweet melodies and raw authenticity. Recently named one of Holler’s “New Country & Americana Artists for 2024,” Hofmann will tour through this fall including dates with Colter Wall and Wyatt Flores and will continue to release new music this year. Additional details to come soon.
