NEW ALBUM BLACK ON BLACK OUT OCTOBER 25
ON TOUR THIS FALL
Cauthen is in the middle of a tear of dates across the continent, with headline shows in Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle and more this fall. The consummate road warrior, this year sees Cauthen traversing North America following recent sets at Outside Lands, Montauk, NY’s Surf Lodge and many more.
“Angels & Heathens” follows singles “Sweetheart from the Trailer Park,” “Black on Black”— the album’s title track, and “Hot Damn.” The new songs and Black on Black continue a landmark 2024 for Cauthen, who brought out Lana Del Rey to duet on “Unchained Melody” at his Stagecoach set and features on Shaboozey’s “Last of my Kind” off of his new album Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going.
Black on Black was written over the last several years during Paul’s travels across America on his motorcycle and in the tour bus and largely recorded at Rosewood Studios in Cauthen’s hometown of Tyler, TX with longtime collaborator Jason Burt (John Mayer, Leon Bridges).
Celebrated for his remarkable baritone voice which has earned him the nickname Big Velvet, Cauthen grew up singing in the church choir and cut his chops as part of a tight knit creative community in East Texas.
Cauthen has steadily risen through the ranks of country and Americana, first gaining notoriety with roots duo Sons of Fathers before embarking on a solo career with his debut album, My Gospel. He’s gone on to release two more much-lauded albums—Room 41 and 2022’s Country Coming Down—and toured the world over. Known for his raucous live show, Cauthen has collaborated and shared stages with Margo Price, Orville Peck, Elle King, Midland, Cody Jinks and many more.
