EXTENSIVE HEADLINE TOUR UNDERWAY
April 23, 2024—Turnpike Troubadours will perform at Eddie Vedder’s Ohana Festival on Saturday, September 28, directly before headliner Neil Young. Tickets for the festival will go on-sale this Thursday, April 25 at 12:00PM PT. Full details can be found at www.ohanafest.com.
The upcoming performance is just the latest added to the band’s extensive 2024 tour schedule, which includes headline shows at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre (two nights), Chicago’s The Salt Shed, St. Louis’ The Factory, Macon’s Macon Amphitheater and Wichita’s INTRUST Bank Arena among others. The band will also support Zach Bryan on his stadium this summer including stops at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium, Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field (two nights) and Minneapolis’ U.S. Bank Stadium. See below for complete tour itinerary.
The tour adds to a landmark year for Turnpike Troubadours, who achieved their career-best first week with their new album, A Cat in the Rain (Bossier City Records/Thirty Tigers, stream/purchase here). In celebration of the new music, the band recently partnered with SiriusXM’s Outlaw Country for an intimate session at Tulsa’s historic The Church Studio, which aired multiple times on the channel this past weekend.
Produced by Shooter Jennings and recorded at Muscle Shoals’ Fame Recording Studios and Dave’s Room in Los Angeles, A Cat in the Rain was released to overwhelming critical acclaim and landed on several “Best of 2023” lists including Rolling Stone, The AV Club, Brooklyn Vegan, No Depression, Wide Open Country, Whiskey Riff and more. Of the record, the Associated Press praises, “they’ve returned with the kind of ferocity that feels destined to put them right back on that long-term upward trajectory…The earnestness is palpable,” while Billboard declares, “conveys the group’s superior, tightly-knit musicianship and ever maturing, evocative lyricism” and Spin proclaims, “the Oklahoma group is better than ever…one of the most beloved groups in country and roots music.”
Pioneers of the Red Dirt music scene and one of America’s most beloved bands, Turnpike Troubadours has amassed a massive following throughout their career with more than 1.5 billion streams globally and over 1.28 million equivalent units sold to-date. Originally from Tahlequah, OK, Turnpike Troubadours is Evan Felker (vocals, guitar), Kyle Nix (fiddle), Ryan Engleman (electric guitar), RC Edwards (bass), Gabe Pearson (drums) and Hank Early (steel, accordion).
Since their 2005 debut, Turnpike Troubadours has released six studio albums including 2017’s self-released A Long Way From Your Heart, which reached #3 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and #20 on the all-genre Billboard 200. Of the record, American Songwriter declared, “grabs you with its subtle authenticity, nails 11 originals that exude natural charm and intrinsic integrity,” while the Austin American Statesman praised, “a rousing, thought-provoking country short story collection.” Further adding to their renowned career, the band recently made their late-night television debut on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and was inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.
