The nostalgic new track blends folk and R&B, and sees Blessing reflect on moments from her past through her singular vocal presence. On her recent UK tour, Americana UK lauded her “excellent vocal range and sense of dynamics,” continuing, “At times, I was reminded of obvious comparators, Joan Armatrading and Tracy Chapman but at others there was a touch of Mary J Blige.” God is in the TV praised, “Blessing equally impresses with her confidence, powerful voice, and a clutch of great songs.”
Blessing shares, “Frown Lines” is the first single from my debut album, and releasing it feels both surreal and incredibly exciting. I wrote it during a time when I realized that life and love aren't what I expected as I grow older, but I've come to understand that’s perfectly okay—it’s what makes the journey so much more interesting. I’m very happy to share this part of an even bigger story.”
Raised in Katy, TX, Nigerian American 23-year-old Blessing began sharing guitar and singing videos online—her signature, impressive voice drew sizable buzz, as well as the support of Thirty Tigers, who signed on for her debut EP “the girl next door.”
