The Blue Note New York takes a unique approach in curating its namesake New York festival, looking beyond the confines of genre, geography and time to craft a one-of-a-kind lineup. Pulling together history-shaping innovators, cultural icons from around the world and contemporary artists pushing the boundaries of music today, the festival captures the social fabric of New York City like no other.

“We're excited to present artists this year who are singular and innovative. Artists who have their own unique individuality and voice, and that are truly one of a kind. Artists who are exceptional and bold. Influential figures who transcend boundaries and who have and are making an impact in music culture. The artists presented across the Blue Note Jazz Festival New York embody tremendous artistic integrity, individuality and strength as musicians: from icons like Charles Lloyd, house music pioneer Louie Vega, Grace Jones, Branford Marsalis, Warren G and the tap dancer Savion Glover to the next generation of progressive artists including Emily King, Infinity Song, Janelle Monáe, Saba, The Soul Rebels, Gallant and Tank and The Bangas.

There's so much positive motion and development on the horizon for the Blue Note brand right now, including the soon-to-be-announced artist line up for The Black Radio Experience with Robert Glasper in Napa, the opening of Blue Note Los Angeles, and the newly renamed Blue Note Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl in June to name a few. We're grateful for all the momentum and special moments ahead,” says Alex Kurland, Director of Programming and Talent Buyer of Blue Note Entertainment Group.

Blue Note continues to grow its expansive slate of programming, most recently with The Roots’ iconic celebration of their debut album’s 30th anniversary, annual month-long Robtober residency curated by Robert Glasper and critically acclaimed residencies with artists including esperanza spalding, Chris Botti and others. Upcoming shows at the Blue Note include Ravyn Lenae, PJ Morton, Infinity Song, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, The Chris Dave Sessions, Sid Sriram and more. See a complete list of dates and additional info HERE.

The Blue Note is also expanding to include a new venue in Los Angeles, bringing the legendary reputation of its renowned New York flagship to the heart of LA’s dynamic music scene.

ABOUT BLUE NOTE JAZZ FESTIVALS

The storied Blue Note Jazz Festival started in New York in 2011, each summer seeing a month-long celebration of jazz throughout June. The Blue Note Jazz Festival Napa kicked off in 2022 with curation by Robert Glasper, creating a multi-day jazz meets hip-hop and R&B festival taking place outdoors across multiple stages. Past headliners include John Legend, NAS, Mary J Blige, Chance the Rapper, Maxwell, Jill Scott and others. In 2024, the Napa festival was presented as a landmark spin-off with Black Radio Experience, in association with Glasper at the Meritage Hotel. Blue Note will continue to present the Black Radio Experience in Napa in 2025.

The Blue Note is also partnering with The Hollywood Bowl to present the new Blue Note Jazz Festival in Los Angeles—formerly known as the Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival—a beloved annual celebration of jazz held at the iconic Hollywood Bowl. Known for its stellar lineups and electric atmosphere, the festival showcases a diverse range of artists, from legendary performers like Charles Lloyd and Raphael Saadiq to emerging talents such as Yebba, Aneesa Strings, Cimafunk and more, highlighting the rich and evolving traditions of jazz. This festival is a reimagining of the Playboy Jazz Festival that began at the Bowl in 1979 and inspired the full jazz series programming at the venue to date.
