September 15, 2025—Los Angeles cult favorite ice cream company CVT Soft Serve has partnered with Jean Creative to create two commercial spots for CVT’s new, redesigned to-go soft serve pouches; watch HERE and HERE.

“It was such a thrill to be able to work with Jean Creative,” says CVT founder Joe Nicchi. “Our goal with these spots was to lean into the no-mess aspect of our ice cream pouches while keeping the comedy and personality people expect from CVT. We wanted to show that enjoying soft serve can be fun, simple and hassle-free. Jean Creative really understood our vision and helped us bring it to life in a way that is both authentic and entertaining.”

JEAN is an award-winning directing team behind commercial campaigns for companies including Nestle, Taylormade, Pepsi, AT&T, Pizza Hut, Honda, Delta and more.

The commercials continue a landmark year for CVT, who recently appeared as the ice cream vendor at Lollapalooza, Governor’s Ball and the Indy500—the largest single day sporting event in the world. They’ll be an official vendor at further major music festivals throughout the rest of summer including Shaky Knees, Sea Hear Now, Oceans Calling and more. CVT is the official ice cream of Live Nation Amphitheaters and is available at select football stadiums across the country. Additionally, they recently partnered with Kidz Bop to take their signature single-serve pouches on the road for the Certified BOP Tour, bringing family-friendly concerts to fans across the country.

Founded in 2014, CVT began out of Joe Nicchi’s frustration with the 2010s low-fat frozen yogurt trend. Missing the authentic soft serve he had grown up with in upstate New York, Nicchi decided to bring the dessert to LA. Launching the company out of a refurbished 1961 Mister Softee truck from New York nicknamed “Charlie,” the brand’s signature blend of creaminess and flavor became an instant hit with Los Angeles locals and celebrities alike. Within 3 months of opening, Nicchi hosted a Bill Murray-themed Ice Cream Social, at which Murray made an impromptu appearance, drawing national attention to the brand. CVT has since been named one of the best spots in Los Angeles for ice cream by Los Angeles Magazine, Infatuation L.A. and CBS News—the brand’s devoted following continues to grow in the city and beyond.

After the truck’s success, Nicchi branched out to a second truck, “Frankie,” and expanded into machines for dining halls and residential use, with Jeff Bezos notably ordering a machine for his home. The most recent creation of CVT is pre-packed, single-serve ice cream pouches to bring their soft serve to consumers across the country.

Following success at an initial launch in Gelson’s supermarkets in May 2023, CVT’s ice cream pouches were named “LA’s Food Item of the Year” by Eater Los Angeles. Within three years, they have since expanded to over 3000 venues and grocery stores across the country including Wegmans, Safeway, Price Chopper, Central Markets, Ralphs, Fred Meyer and many more—find a full list of stores here.

CVT’s pouches have garnered praise from The Today Show, Food & Wine, Uproxx, NOSH and many more. The product is featured at multiple NFL Stadiums, the Getty Museum, the Santa Barbara Zoo, and has made appearances at premier events as Lollapalooza, Gov Ball, the Indy 500, and more.

Additionally, CVT just won the Grand Prize at the National Frozen & Refrigerated Food Association (NFRA)’s Emerging Brand Contest for their single serving soft serve pouches. The NFRA, the leading trade association for frozen and refrigerated categories, created the contest to “spotlight up-and-coming brands reshaping the frozen and refrigerated aisles through innovation, flavor, and purpose.” The organization praised CVT’s pouches for “its nostalgic taste, simple ingredients, and ‘game-changing’ format.”
